39th Annual New Mexico Mineral Symposium, Socorro, NM

(New Mexico Tech) Virgil Leuth 575 835-5302, geoinfo.nmtedu/museum/minsymp/registration. Arrive 2 days early for some field trips-one standard trip is to the Blanchard Claims near Bingham,

NM for fluorite and galena etc. Lectures about mineral deposits in NM, CO, Utah and Arizona by noted experts. There are also mineral dealers at the Comfort Inn selling very nice specimens. The Mineral Museum is superb at New Mexico Tech. There is also a Gala Banquet on Saturday evening.
